Ramadan is about to end, but Moroccan devotees are still skeptical date of eid al fitr, Actually, according to astrological calculations, the holy month of Ramadan this year in Morocco should last for 29 days and hence Eid Al Fitr will be celebrated on April 10.

But it is the observation of the moon on the 29th that will determine the exact date of the religious festival, it may fall on April 11.

Eid al Fitr date: uncertainty for Moroccan workers

However, this doubt regarding the date of Eid Al Fitr 2024 poses a problem for employees who plan to travel during this religious festival. Indeed, even though Morocco gives two days off to celebrate Eid al Fitr, organizing it is complicated if the date of the celebration still remains a mystery.

Therefore, Representative Geeta Mazour, Minister responsible for Administrative Reforms and Digital Transformation, has proposed to add an extra day to the Eid Al Fitr holiday this year.

three days leave instead of two

As reported by the media morocco world news, Gita Mazour sent a letter to the head of government, Aziz Akhnouch. She suggests ordering an extraordinary holiday on the occasion of Eid al Fitr 2024. Their request is based on a decree that authorizes the government to grant it if necessary. This has already happened last year during Eid Al Fitr 2023.

Therefore Ghita Mejor provides three days off instead of two. Representative Minister suggests giving additional holiday on this day “Either Wednesday 10 April, if this day coincides with the 30th day of Ramadan, or Friday 12 April, if this day coincides with the 3rd day of Shawwal”.

The government responded favorably to his request. In a press release published on Thursday, April 4, the government declared Friday, April 12, an extraordinary holiday for the celebration of Eid al-Fitr.

Therefore, regardless of the date of Eid Al Fitr this year, Moroccan workers should be able to join their families with peace of mind and enjoy the festivities to the fullest.
